Byungil Ahn was ordained as an elder at the GNJ in 2011, and has served at Alloway & Canton UMC in Salem County, and Morganville UMC in Monmouth County. He has an M. Div. from Drew Theological Seminary in Madison NJ. Byungil has been married for 23 years to his wife Hyenjung Moon, and has two children, Jane and Chloe.
Heidi has been an educator in the Mansfield school system and brings that knowledge and love for children to her position as the youth leader. She and her husband have 3 grown children. Heidi has lived in this area all her life and has attended the Washington UMC for 30+ years.
Vicki Robinson is our Administrative Assistant. Vicki is a retired educator who, with her husband, has lived in Washington for 35 years and has 3 grown children. When you call or come to our church office she will be the 1st voice you hear or face you see. She is willing to help in any way she can!
Rich attended Shenandoah College and Conservatory of Music in Winchester, VA). He was born and raised in the Marcella section of Rockaway Township, NJ where he still resides in the home he grew up in with his two best friends, his two pups, Killian and Kona.
Darin has been involved with the church for many years. Darin and Debbie were married here and both of their children were baptized here. Darin is happy to serve the church in any capacity when needed. He is a Scout Leader and enjoys everything in the outdoors.
Jennifer has attended our church since she was a preschool Sunday School student. Now, Jenn and her husband have two young sons who attend, too! Jenn is a certified teacher and school supervisor, teaching elementary school since 2009. She loves leading our Sunday School and VBS teams and students. She also serves as a summer school coordinator and service club advisor.
Our pastor emeritus is the Rev. Marilyn Balzer. Serving the Methodist church for over 30 years, Marilyn has numerous teaching certifications. Born and raised in Salem, Marilyn has 3 grown children and 7 grandchildren!
Rev. Byungil Ahn is an ordained elder in the Greater NJ annual conference. He earned his Master of Divinity degree from Drew Theological Seminary and is deeply committed to ministries centered around sharing the word of God, pastoral care, and fostering relationships with a diverse range of people. His passion emanates from the belief that Jesus came, died, and was raised for the people in our midst.
